Scavenger Hunt Generator
Generate a random scavenger hunt for kids and classrooms. 5–25 items, indoor or outdoor, age-graded vocabulary, printable A4 / Letter sheet with checkboxes and where-to-look hints.
What it does
Pre-filtered to scavenger-friendly items
Only items plausibly findable in a typical home or yard are included. The full 400+ catalog is filtered to a curated subset.
Pick count, location, and age
5/10/15/20/25 items. Indoor / outdoor / either. Age ranges 5–7, 8–10, 11–13, 14+, or mixed — younger ages get easier vocabulary (CEFR A1–A2).
Printable list
A4 / Letter compatible. Two-column print layout with checkboxes, emojis at print-friendly size, and where-to-look hints.
Re-roll any single row
Each row has a re-roll button so you can swap individual items without regenerating the whole list.
CSV export
Export the list as a CSV with checkbox column, name, and hint — useful for digital scoring sheets.

15 indoor items, ages 5–7. Print one sheet per kid, hand out, set a 20-minute timer.
Classroom outdoor lesson
10 outdoor items, ages 8–10. Pair students up for a nature walk with the printed list.
Family weekend afternoon
20 mixed-location items, mixed ages. The whole family hunts together — older kids help younger ones find harder items.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is the age range used?
- It maps to a CEFR English-vocabulary proxy. Ages 5–7 get only A1–A2 items, ages 8–10 add B1, and older ranges include all levels.
Are the items realistic to find?
- Yes. The scavenger-hunt subset only includes items plausibly findable in a typical home, yard, park, or street.
Can I print directly from the page?
- Yes. The Print button uses your browser print dialog. The print stylesheet hides nav and footer chrome and produces a clean two-column layout.
Can I share the same list with someone else?
- Yes. Press Share to copy a permalink that reproduces your settings. The actual items are deterministic — same settings + same seed = same list.
Is there a CSV export?
- Yes. Choose "Export scavenger CSV" from the Export menu — produces a CSV with a checkbox column, item name, and hint.
